Offline-first ERP for pig farmsSP-51 · FCR · BAS / 1C

Your barns already produce the data. FriendFarms turns it into margin.

One operational system for sows, weaners and finishers — from the farrowing crate to the SP-51 form and BAS / 1C accounting. It keeps recording when the signal drops, and reconciles itself when the network comes back.

No signal? The barn keeps working.

The barn terminal is an installable PWA with a local queue: the operator keeps recording without a network, and every entry syncs exactly once when it returns.

SP-51 and NPD in one click, not one evening.

Month-to-date forms build themselves from live events: Excel for the report, primary documents for BAS / 1C — with exactly the numbers your accountant signs.

A BAS / 1C gateway that cannot duplicate a posting.

Idempotency keys claimed before any side effect, a closed-period lock and a staging queue for inbound rows. A rejected document becomes a task, not a support ticket.

Production cycle

From the crate to the carcass, one record of truth.

Each stage writes to the same sow card. The weaning weight your foreman enters at 07:40 is already in the FCR curve, the feed plan and the SP-51 draft by 07:41 — no re-keying, no evening in Excel.

  1. Insemination

Boar, semen collection and service on one card, with conception analytics per boar.

  2. Gestation

Estrus window from day 18, ultrasound check at day 28, farrowing forecast at day 115.

  3. Farrowing

Born alive and stillborn on the sow card, with pen occupancy updated in the same transaction.

  4. Weaning

Lactation days, average weaning weight and pre-weaning mortality; a nursery batch opens automatically.

  5. Growing

ADG at every weighing, FCR per batch and an alert when the feed phase lags behind age and weight.

  6. Finishing

Promotion at 70 days or 30 kg; sale and culling stay blocked until the withdrawal period ends.

Interactive demo

The dashboard your director opens at 07:30.

Click around: switch the metric, close a task, pull an SP-51 file. Everything runs on fixed demo data in your browser — no sign-up, no backend, no sales call.

Monthly herd movement

Opening balance, births, transfers, deaths and closing balance for every group — checked against BAS / 1C postings before export.

FCR

Feed conversion by barn

Feed written off, live-weight gain and FCR against plan for every barn and lot, so the discussion is about the feed, not the spreadsheet.

September
NPD

Non-productive days

Days a sow is neither pregnant nor lactating, by parity: weaning-to-service interval, repeat services and NPD per sow a year.

Under the hood

Boring technology, chosen on purpose.

No blockchain, no AI copilot, no “platform”. A relational schema, a queue that survives a dead router, and a BAS / 1C integration any accountant can audit.

One schema, six stages

Sow, semen, farrowing, nursery, finishing, slaughter — one record, so a piglet's ear tag survives every transfer without anyone re-keying it at 5 a.m.

BAS / 1C stays the ledger

Seven document types — offspring receipt, weight gain, feed and medication write-off, culling, sale and movement — generated per month with idempotent keys. Rejected rows become tasks, not a month-end surprise.

Offline is the default state

Every barn entry is saved on the tablet first and syncs with a unique key, so it is never written twice. One bar of signal is enough; no signal just means the queue waits.

Pricing

Three monthly plans, no per-head maths.

One subscription per complex instead of a fee per sow or per seat. Every plan includes the offline barn app, the BAS / 1C gateway and the automated SP-51 reports — and it starts with a paid trial month.

Roadmap

What already works, and what ships next.

The public product plan: what the ERP already does and what is being built now.

  1. Shipped

BAS / 1C gateway end to end

Seven document types, accounting-period close and reopen, staging review for inbound rows, REST / OData / file transport with retries and a full sync log.

  2. Shipped

    Core records with integrity guarantees

One herd registry where pen occupancy is always correct, a sale during a withdrawal period is blocked by the system, and every change lands in the audit log.

  3. In progress

    RFID tags and connected scales

Scanning an RFID ear tag opens the right animal card at once, and weighing terminals send live weights straight into ADG and feed plans — no numbers copied by hand.

  4. Shipped

    Paper-journal importer

A four-sheet Excel template with preview and validation moves locations, animals, cycles and batches into the database in one transaction.

  5. Shipped

    Offline-first barn terminal

An app installed on barn tablets. Insemination, ultrasound, farrowing, weaning and batch events work without a network and sync exactly once, with conflicts resolved on the spot.

  6. Shipped

    Reproduction, rations and vet protocols

Estrus window, ADG per weighing, lactation metrics, nursery-to-fattening promotion, daily ration plans, three-generation pedigree, boar analytics and a vet task board.

  7. In progress

    Regulatory reporting and economics

SP-51, livestock balance, NPD and FCR already export to Excel. Next come PDF printouts, Form 24-сг, veterinary reporting, and cost per kilogram and margin per batch.

  8. Planned

    Planning, holdings and mobile app

Farrowing forecast and breeding plan, selection index, multi-tenancy, holding structure with per-site analytics, inter-farm logistics and an operator mobile app.

  9. Shipped

Access control and a tamper-proof audit trail

Five roles see only what their job needs, every change is recorded with who and when, and nobody — including an administrator — can quietly edit that history.

FAQ

The questions the owner asks second.

The first one is always price. These are the ones that actually decide whether the thing survives its first quarter.

Ask a question

Do we have to replace BAS or 1C?

No. BAS / 1C stays the accounting ledger and stays the source of truth for money. FriendFarms owns the biology: sows, inseminations, farrowings, weaning weights, feed, treatments. The gateway generates the primary documents for accounting — offspring receipt, weight gain, feed and medication write-off, culling, sale and movement — and inbound rows go through a review queue, so nobody types a document twice.

What happens if the internet dies mid-shift?

The barn app writes every entry to local storage first, then tries the network. Each record carries an idempotency key, so a replay after an outage never doubles a feed log or a vaccination. When the connection returns — even at 2 a.m. — the queue drains in order and the barn app tells the foreman how many records synced.

How long is onboarding, honestly?

Three weeks for a single complex, and we would rather say four than pretend. Week one: import the herd, ear tags and feed rations. Week two: parallel run — the barn keeps its paper sheet while foremen enter the same data on the barn tablet. Week three: paper goes away, and the first SP-51 close is produced from the system, not from a spreadsheet.

Will my foremen actually use it?

That is the question that matters, which is why the field interface is a tablet terminal built for the barn, not a desktop reporting tool. Insemination, ultrasound, farrowing, weaning and batch events are short forms that work without a network, and the terminal installs to the home screen like an app.

Where does the data physically live?

Each farm gets its own installation: PostgreSQL and the application in Docker, either on your own server or hosted by us. The data sits in a standard PostgreSQL database with committed migrations, so it never depends on a proprietary format.

Does it handle withdrawal periods and the vet register?

Every treatment is stored with the medication, dose and withdrawal end date. A sale or culling of an animal or batch that is still in withdrawal is rejected by the system, not by a reminder. Vet protocols turn into a daily task board, doses are calculated from live weight, and the register prints with a signature block.

How much does it cost?

One subscription per complex, never per sow or per seat: a $49–99 trial and integration month, then Standard at $199 per month or Enterprise at $999 per month per complex for multi-complex holdings. Every plan includes the offline barn app, the BAS / 1C gateway and automated SP-51 reports.

Bring your worst spreadsheet to the call.

Send the herd movement file — the one with fourteen tabs, three colours of highlight and a broken VLOOKUP. We load it into a demo farm before the call and walk you through the same numbers on one screen. If it doesn't fit, we say so on the call instead of after the invoice.
